WHO WE ARE
Education & Mentorship
Yeshivas Ohr Yechezkel Wisconsin Institute for Torah Study (WITS), was founded in 1980 by Rabbi Raphael Wachsman zt”l, Rabbi Moshe Dov Harris and Rabbi Yehuda Cheplowitz to provide a unique Yeshiva High School/Yeshiva Gedolah program for the Midwest Jewish community.. It has grown substantially since its opening and now attracts students from across the United States and Canada..
Rabbi Yehuda Cheplowitz, and Rabbi Avrohom Boruch Rauch talmidim of HaRav HaGaon Henoch Leibowitz Zt”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim (Queens, N.Y), guide and direct the Yeshiva. They set and implement the educational philosophy and make determinations regarding admissions, staff, discipline and curriculum. They oversee the Torah Studies and General Studies departments of the high school, the Bais Medrash program and the supervision of the students.
Mr. Robert Clark, General Studies Principal, directs the General Studies program. Mr. Clark has designed a curriculum expressly suited for a Yeshiva High School with college-preparatory focus. Mr. Clark plans each student’s program, counsels students in regard to their academic progress and oversees classes and curriculum implementation. He evaluates the effectiveness of staff and curriculum and makes recommendations to the administration.
The stable character of the administration serves to provide consistency and a well-balanced, cohesive program. The entire staff works together and operates on the basis that, although they are dealing with two curricula, they are dealing with one student. The student senses a consonance of purpose, approach and goal in both morning and afternoon.
